NARS Beach Lifeguard
The National Aquatic Rescue Standard Beach Lifeguard Award (NARS BL) is an intensive six day course, comprised of five full days of training and one full day of examination, to gain an internationally recognized vocational qualification. Valid for three years, the NaRS BL award is specifically for providing a test of: personal fitness; practical lifeguard skills and knowledge; rescue skills; life support and first aid.
The course is designed to run over a minimum of 40 hours, plus completion of worksheets in non-course time. Candidates must also, as pre-requisites of the course, be able to complete a timed swim of 400m in 7 minutes and 30 seconds and a 200m run in 40 seconds. Courses are suitable for all those aged 16 years and above and qualifications are valid for 36 months.
The cost of the course is £275 (student rate £245)
