About Nick Thorn Surf Coaching
Nick Thorn surf coaching was born from Nick’s own passion for surfing and surf life saving. The surf school in Woolacombe has seen 1000's of surfers, of all abilities, successfully complete their surf training since it was established in 2000.
The surf school was a natural progression for Nick, combining his international success in competitive surf life saving with his professional experience in beach lifeguarding, his ability as a surfer and his love of teaching.
Nick Thorn Surf Coaching is an experienced team of surfers who are enthusiastic about making your surfing experience as rewarding and enjoyable as possible. All our instructors are qualified to at least BSA Level 1 standard and hold recognised surf life saving certificates. The surf school itself is affiliated with the UK Surf Lifesaving Association and the British Surfing Association.
Nick Thorn surf school believes in the benefits of working in association with a range of local businesses and community groups. Successful partnerships have been established over the years with Gulf Stream Surfboards, Woolacombe Bay Holiday Parks, Hunter Boardwear and businesses providing accommodation in Woolacombe. Nick has regularly provided voluntary support in surf training and water safety to local schools and youth groups.
